Assistant Kitchen Manager – The Halal Guys (Hillcrest, CA)

Pay: $20–$23/hr

Schedule: Full-time (40+ hours/week)

Location: Hillcrest, San Diego, CA

About the Role:

The Halal Guys are officially coming to Hillcrest, and we’re building a rockstar team to launch our first San Diego location. We’re hiring a dependable and driven Assistant Kitchen Manager to support back-of-house operations and help lead a high-performing crew. This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role with a nationally recognized brand and grow with a new franchise.

We’re hiring and training immediately. This position includes paid training: 3 weeks in Tempe, AZ and 1 week in New York City.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Kitchen Manager with daily BOH operations
• Supervise prep, cooking, and food quality during shifts
• Ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards are followed
• Help manage inventory, food costs, and product rotation
• Train and coach new team members
• Step into the lead role when the Kitchen Manager is off-site

What We’re Looking For:

• 1–2 years of experience in a BOH leadership or shift lead role
• Comfortable in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen
• Strong communicator who leads by example
• Reliable, team-oriented, and organized
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
