Title: Director of Operations

Location: Washington, D.C.

Compensation: up to $150k + benefits package

A prestigious private club in Washington, D.C. is seeking a seasoned Director of Operations to lead the day-to-day execution of its member services, food & beverage offerings, staff development, and facility operations. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with a passion for excellence, team building, and elevated service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Member Experience & Programming

• Champion a seamless, five-star member and guest experience across all departments.
• Collaborate with F&B and events teams to curate compelling dining, social, and cultural offerings.
• Respond to member needs with professionalism and urgency, fostering a community atmosphere.

Team Leadership & Culture

• Lead by example, nurturing a culture rooted in service, collaboration, and professional integrity.
• Oversee hiring, training, and performance development across departments.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment aligned with the Club’s values.

Operations Oversight

• Ensure operational excellence across clubhouse, dining, facilities, and grounds.
• Manage safety, maintenance, scheduling, and cleanliness protocols.
• Serve as the acting GM when needed, ensuring continuity in leadership.

Financial & Administrative Management

• Partner with senior leadership and accounting on budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Monitor department metrics and KPIs, and implement strategies for operational efficiency.
• Uphold fiscal responsibility while maintaining service quality and capital improvements.

Communication & Internal Systems

• Maintain strong communication channels with members and team leads.
• Drive internal reporting and utilize technology to enhance member engagement and staff productivity.

Candidate Profile:

• 5–7+ years in hospitality operations, ideally in a luxury, club, or fine-dining environment
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Hands-on approach with a high level of emotional intelligence and attention to detail
• Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing teams
• Familiarity with club management software and operational best practices
